What is a Cleanse?

The HICJUICE Cleanse is an all liquid diet serving to cleanse, hydrate and nourish your body. It gives your body a break from digesting solid food while maximizing the nutrient absorption from the raw, unpasteurised and cold-pressed juices.

How Does it Work?

All you have to do is to replace all your day’s meals, caffeinated/alcoholic/carbonated drinks with the six delicious raw, vegan and cold pressed juices, drank in intervals of two hours. You can carry on your everyday life as per normal as there will be sufficient calories to get you through the day but do get plenty of rest and try adding in some activities like yoga, swimming or spa treatments to aid in the elimination process. Leave the rest of the work to the juice and your body. 
Our bodies work more efficiently at excreting toxins when our digestive system is freed from the task of digesting solid food. The main reason is that our bodies utilise a lot of energy to digest solid food. Cold-pressed juices reduce the energy required for the breakdown process, as the liquid nutrients from the raw ingredients can be absorbed into the cells quicker. Thus, our bodies can focus its energy on cleansing, recovery and healing.

How do I Prepare for it?

It is highly recommended that you follow these steps 3 days before your cleanse to ensure a smooth transition into the program and to get the best out of it. 
• Clear your calendar of any social engagement around the dates of your cleanse 
• Cut down on your intake on caffeine, alcohol, red meat, sugars and dairy to prep your body 
• Introduce fresh fruits, raw greens and vegetables into your diet

What to Expect During the Cleanse?

We are all unique. Each individual responds differently to a juice cleanse, depending on factors like diet and lifestyle habits, but any unpleasant cleanse symptoms should not persist past 2-3 days. If you feel uncomfortable such as lightheadedness or unusual fatigue, it could be part of the detox symptoms as your body is working hard on ridding itself of all the junk you do not need. You will also be visiting the restrooms a lot more frequently – it’s all part of the cleansing journey. 
Our juices tend to be filling as they contain plenty of high quality nutrients to keep you satiated, but your mind may communicate hunger because your body is not used to a purely liquid diet. Try to drink your juices slowly and in sips allowing the body to assimilate the vital nutrients that will reduce your hunger pangs. In addition, consume plenty of water or herbal teas in between the juices to hydrate and aid in the elimination. Sometimes, hunger may be a sign that our bodies need more water. If you must eat something, stick to raw fruits and vegetables or lightly boiled or steamed greens.

What Happens after the Cleanse?

After the cleanse, slowly transition back into your normal diet by gently breaking the cleanse with clean and nutritionally dense food and try to adhere to the Post Cleanse Guide as much as possible. Your body is very clean at this point, so it’s the perfect time to be more conscious of the food you take, keeping the healthier path you started sustainable in the long run. 
Remember, the visible benefits such as a flatter tummy, glowing complexion and increased energy are never as important as a positive mindset over what you eat and how you live your life from now on!
